Union Station Anniversary - 1894

Today in history Union Station opened with a gala in the Grand Hall, attended by about 20,000 invited guests. Architect Theodore C. Link's building was twice as big as any railroad depot in the world.

Union Station is located on the site of the former Chouteau's Pond --- drained in 1849 due to pollution issues - the former lake bed made for a great train yard for Union Station
